An Enchanted Loom: Ode to the Brain

Ode to the Brain by Symphony of Science

Information in the form of energy

Streams in simultaneously
Through all of our sensory systems

And then it explodes into this enormous collage
Of what this present moment looks like
What it feels like
And what it sounds like

And then it explodes into this enormous collage
And in this moment we are perfect
We are whole and we are beautiful

--Jill Bolte Taylor

Jill Bolte Taylor might not have imagined this to be a poem, but I do. Consider the alliteration, the consonance, the euphony, the polysendaton. And the repetition. (Well, some of the repetition is engendered by melodysheep's construction of the piece, but however it got there, this is a poetic performance.)  This is sciency poetry: Poetry of the brain.
My son sang/recited this as part of his talent show performance. Here is a picture of him wearing his big blue mouse head just as he did during the show.
This is the last post where commenting means an automatic entry into the drawing for Jacqueline Houtman's book The Reinvention of Edison Thomas

This is the last Poetry Friday of National Poetry Month.
Today's host is Tabatha Yeatts at The Opposite of Indifference.

Enjoy the poetry.
May your moments explode in an enormous collage.
