Today I'd like to share two poetry-related links...
The first is to Figment. It's an online community for writers.
Unlike some other communities, the emphasis is on sharing work—creating an online workshop experience. It is a great choice for young writers. If I run into Dietrich, who wants to write for a living, I'm going to tell him about it. Ditto, Jordan the young poet. The reason is simple: The best way to become a better writer is to write—for an audience. It is a perfect space for that.
It is easy to participate. You can log in with either Facebook or Twitter. Here, go ahead, visit Figment. You can even read an excerpt from my gloomy little book. The Freak Observer is a featured title there at the moment.
And now for something completely different, please visit ResidentAlien, who celebrated Burns Night in Scotland with an ode to the wee, sleekit, tim'rous beasties slaughtered by her cats: Ye Banks And Braes
Still not enough poetic excitement?
Have I got the plan for you. It's Poetry Friday, hosted today by, Wild Rose Reader, Elaine Magliaro.
Go there. Read poems.
Then go write one.
